The Calligrapher's Words
Originally, in Buddhism, Mujinzō referred to the “treasure house” containing infinite merit (good deeds that bring positive rewards) and teachings—in other words, “Buddhism itself.”
As a Zen phrase, it is also used in the tea ceremony and Zen terminology as an abbreviation for “Mu-ichi-motsu-chū Mujinzō” (lit. “In the state of having nothing, there is an inexhaustible treasure”—meaning that precisely because one possesses nothing, the mind is filled with infinite possibilities and abundance).
Because I believe an inexhaustible love lives within the human heart, I felt compelled to write this phrase. And I wrote it with a conscious focus on strong, natural brushstrokes.
