Deep Matcha Bowl by Azusa Amemiya

Azusa Amemiya is a ceramic artist based in New York City. 

Primarily working with a pottery wheel, she often uses different types of clay to create her lyrical work. Experimenting with different glazes and methods to achieve a sense of scenery through color and shape. 

A milky, tactile white glaze cascades over a rough, iron-speckled clay base, punctuated by warm, earthy undertones and subtle golden flashes that seem to dance across the surface. While traditionally scaled for whisking a rich bowl of matcha, its generous depth and organic presence make it equally suited as an exceptional vessel for small culinary offerings.
