This poem is by Shūkichi Yagi, a Japanese poet. (1898- 1927)
When I first read this poem, I pictured a light-filled scene seen through a large window from inside a room.
It felt as though particles of light were streaming down in a straight line toward a tiny flower. I felt a sense of love in nature's power, which does not overlook even the existence of a single small flower, and I wrote this poem with that image in mind.
