"UROKO" Matcha Container by Hanako Nakazato

A small matcha container with a lid, called 茶入 (Chaire), is used when making Koicha in the proper tea ceremony. 

"UROKO" pattern: A black coating is applied to white clay and randomly scraped off to create a scored pattern. The chamfering can be faintly felt on the palm.

Hanako makes each piece by hand, one by one. Slight variations in size, shape, color, and surface are inherent to the process. We hope you will embrace these small differences as characteristics that give each piece individuality and character, making them all the more lovable.
