Suga Pottery Scalloped Serving Bowl - Butter Yellow

This plate by Ben Suga is made for serving smaller dishes like tiny salads, individual pieces of meat or fish, or tsukemono. The scalloped shape is made for inviting presentations.

Because the plate is handmade, it has a unique, playful, soft-yellow textured glaze, with the dark-brown base showing through. 

With roots in Japan and training as an apprentice to renowned ceramic masters in Karatsu, Japan, and Minnesota, Ben Suga creates high-quality ceremonial teaware, tableware, and sculpture in his studio in the Catskill Mountains. 

These stoneware bowls are fired at high temperatures, which makes them durable.
