As the perfect prelude to the official opening of our MIDORI Japanese Matcha & Tea Bar on May 15th, we are welcoming Keiko Kitazawa, an Omotesenke-style tea master. She has a Chashitsu (traditional tea ceremony room) in her NJ home, and our funder, Coco Masuda, practices the tea ceremony there. You will see a demonstration by Keiko-sensei, taste a premium matcha she prepared with seasonal Wagashi sweets, and then learn the fundamentals of the traditional tea ceremony yourself.
Part 1: Tea Ceremony Demonstration by Keiko Kitazawa
• Matcha serving of Usucha Matcha with Kusui Matcha by Sorate
• Seasonal Wagashi (traditional Japanese confection)
Part 2: Workshop on Fundamentals of the traditional tea ceremony
